Location: Mos Espa, Tatooine.
Caught a few rumors that there's a chopshop running out of this location. so here we are to see what we can find out. Dynamo's not being a whole lot of help, but that's not a surprise.
I've heard some interesting things about this place. Techno and Middy claimed they've seen movies, so just ask them about Hutts. There's also a pretty big slave trade around here, and I don't mean just the droids. Wouldn't mind hearing how that fits into mission parameters, in case it should come up.
A Duros information broker at a place called the Blue Brubb might know something about the situation that's going down here. Seems the Hutts don't like competition and the ship thieves are being bad for their business, too.

Location: Mos Eisley, Tatooine.
Went home for dinner, and the universe snuck and skipped ahead on us. This could either be useful or a pain in the tail depending on how we play it.
So, we've had a little more of a look around, and found a little transportation problem. Seems there's a gang of ship thieves working in the area.
In a way, that's also the solution to getting off this sandball. One of the traders that got his ship boosted doesn't feel too comfortable dealing with the locals about it, and I guess we still stick out a bit. If we can get his ship back, he's willing to drop us off anywhere we want on his usual route. And if we can't, well, he figures he's no worse off than he was.

Now that we've got coordinates for a town, I think it might be a good idea to break a while and PIN home. There are a few minor issues that need worked out, one of which being that we can't read the local language. Collected a few reference samples for someone to work with there.
Other than that, I don't know what to think of this place. It's almost like what you'd get if you cranked the heat up in the Nexus, covered it in sand, and dropped the anti-violence field. I've seen more different species of people in the last ten minutes than I could make a decent list of here, and I think the blue girl on the last street corner tried to proposition me. (Tell Ma I said no, before she works herself into a fuss.)
Anyhow, be seeing you soon.

So, let's say I just happen to have video of Dynamo making a fool of himself trying to catch that reek. Anyone interested in copies?
That said, it finally got tired of playing with him and that made it pretty easy to lead it back where it came from.
We're off to Mos Eisley in the morning. Hardest part of this job so far is going to be having to pretend to sleep as much as humans do.

I don't know how a former industrial design can be so bad at physics, but it seems I'm in for a spot of entertainment this evening.
Dyna plans to just grab a chain attached to the reek and head on back. The critter outweighs him by a good bit. He insists it doesn't count because he's stronger than a squishy would be. I think the rest of you can see where this is going.
As for me, I think I'm just going to watch the little rodeo and let Dynamo tire the reek out.

Report #6
Home Universe Date: August 3, 2094
In-Universe Date: 1:9, Year 3
Location: Great Mesra Plateau, Tatooine.
This time we managed to find a farm. I know you're wondering what there is to farm in this giant sandbox. This particular bunch was going to try ranching, but by the time we showed up they were more occupied with a shootout with the local Sand People.
I figure Dynamo's spent most of his report complaining about how there wasn't a mention of 'reeks' anywhere in that fauna report, but since the farmers mentioned they imported the thing I'll just mention it and move along. I don't have any idea what they planned to feed it around here. And given what I've heard folks here usually farm, I've got suspicions the stupid is planetwide.
The Sand People aren't too bright either, cause they promptly assumed we were reinforcements for the farmers and started shooting at us too. By the time the little mess was settled, the reek had run off.
Local currency's something called 'peggats', and we're being offered a few and a trip to Mos Eisley (the nearest town) to bring back the stray animal. Shouldn't be too hard, and I'm all for finding a ship off this sandbox of morons.
Seriously. Moisture farming. In a desert. What's next, a banana plantation in the arctic? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for self-sufficiency, but I think it'd be more cost-effective to just import water.

Location: You don't want to know, believe me.
Murphey's Law just bit us on the tail for wishing to find something other than sand in this hellhole. Wish I could say I couldn't believe Dynamo tried to use it for shade, but I can. Idiot.
Coming home as soon as we get out of this. I'll explain then, and after that I never want to speak of this again. Or return here without a map and a few other essential supplies and information, like warnings about the local fauna.

Report #4
Home Universe Date: July 31, 2094
In-Universe Date: Unknown
Location: Still unverified, unless Tatooine is Nothing But Sand
Keep having to reassure Dyna that, while it's hotter than hell here, it hasn't exceeded safe operation temps for Reploids and he is not really in danger of having his circuits melt. I'm starting to doubt anyone lives on this planet.
Still no signs of civilization. No signs of anything but sand and occasionally a rock. I have to protest the lack of planning on this mission. We should have been sent here with a map, universe-appropriate clothing, and supplies. Including at least a universe-compatible communication system of some kind.
Dyna thinks he's spotted something. If it's another rock, I'm going to beat him unconscious and return home.

This job needed more recon. If we don't find any signs of habitation by nightfall, I'm coming home and there's no way I'm coming back here without at least a map.

Getting Into This Mess
((How It All Began:
In May, Gate found a robot of unknown origins in a junk store of the Nexus Mall. It was identified the next day as a T3 Utility Droid, from a Star Wars Universe Variant. It only took Gate half a month to learn enough about a completely different universe's robotics technology to repair the droid. Mad scientists are like that.
T3, being an old and somewhat paranoid little droid, promptly ran off. After finding the skittish droid and reassuring it that it was safe, T3 ended up moving in with Gate and family.
By late July, conversations with T3 had Gate convinced that some meddling in the droid's universe of origin was needed. He ended up getting Spider involved, due to Spider's immediate family having been among those in charge of the old RM Underground. The first attempt meant involving the Stardroids, since they had a ship.
A few days later, and armed with coordinates for a planet's surface, Spider decides to go check things out more thoroughly. His parents want him to take someone with him as backup, and so Dynamo ends up along for the trip. Dynamo thinks he's going along to keep King's son from getting into too much trouble. Spider thinks he's taking Dyna along to keep Dyna out of his dad's hair...))
